It's helpful to see the typeface in the blog format. You were very adamant about legibility from the get go, and you've made great progress in creating a typeface that is.
The x-height and bowls are consist throughout, which holds the system together. The "r", "s", and "t", however, throw off the system because they don't follow the same rules.
Also, in terms of legibility as a goal, the stair-stepping created by the diagonals tends to vibrate, which blends the letters together.
We talked about squaring the corners to reduce vibration. Maybe this is the italic version.
